Confessions of a (dramatic) music nun

I've always been against music piracy. I despise those people who rips off an entire album into a CD, put it in some lousy-printed case and sells it for what, 15-20 thousand a piece? Whereas the real artist could've gotten all the royalties from it. Well you know how it works so I won't blab about it here.

Even so, I download songs (this is the confession part). I download songs and then compile them into a CD. I've been doing that ever since I knew the one evil privilege to the communication world that is the Internet. In my defense, mostly I download songs that I know aren't going to make it over here, my oh-so beloved country of Indonesia. And I NEVER make a penny out of it. I give them to my friends, on birthdays or just to save them from the music they got from radio and MTV. Also, I've never ripped the whole album from one artist. If I like, say, more than five songs, I'd rather buy the CD than downloading the whole album.

Imagine my guilt when I found Feist's Let It Die album very interesting, and I happen to have it in my computer. Do I really have to go and buy the original, when the whole thing is already here practically, and all I have to do is use my Nero?

...

....Aaaand burn. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry Feist! Semoga Anda tetap kaya raya!
