And why you

Forget holiday-ing, forget reuniting with my long-lost besties. Here's what I want most for now: Enrolling at New York University's Journalism Department, majoring in News and Documentation studies.

I checked out the website today, out of boredom, and became dangerously obsessed ever since. I always wanted to get my masters' degree abroad, but I don't think I've ever wanted it this much. You see, the courses there interest me more than seeing Jude Law naked. (a true scholar would've never made that kind of comparison, I think, huh?)

Anyways. Check this out, taken from http://journalism.edu.nyu:

"News and Documentary educates students interested in reporting and producing short form and long form journalism for traditional and non-traditional media. From the first class, students are immersed in the small DV camera and desktop editing environment. They learn form, structure and storytelling by working in the field with a partner and, eventually, by themselves."

Also, the course outline goes something like this:

A typical (full-time) schedule:

Semester 1: 12 points
Writing Workshop I
Television Reporting I
Media Ethics

Semester 2: 12 points
Television Reporting II
Newscast Workshop
Documentary Tradition

Semester 3: 12 points
Advanced TV Reporting
Internship
One elective

You know how in school (and uni) you always find subjects that you just don't prefer to take? Well, not one of the aforementioned classes that I'm not interested at. I don't know what "One elective" is though, but I'd like to find out.

Now all I gotta do is find out how I can manage to afford the sky-high tuition. Oh, and the living cost, too.
