Here's something random. Last year, before I got married, I and Bangun received wedding invitations almost every weekend. And we tried to attend each and every one of it, out of respect and to study how to host a great reception.
Lately, as we're expecting our first child, somehow we've been getting quite a few invitations to aqiqah, a religious tradition to celebrate the birth of a baby. By attending these aqiqah receptions, not only we get to eat various kinds of grilled lamb, we also observe how to host our own aqiqah, especially 'cos we live away from our families. Plus I get to meet and chat with other moms about dealing with a newborn.
That's just how great the universe sometimes works.
