Despite my little firecracker incident (I'm done with holding any of them in my hand), I had one of the best New Year's Eve celebrations. With Bangun's family.
I've always been a NYE enthusiast - every year, Dec. 31 has to be merry, however I celebrate it. My VIPs had to be there, I don't wanna know how.
But this year, I couldn't care less. Maybe I'm too preoccupied with the new house; I've moved to an area five minutes away from Pisok, and it's been hell - couches, TVs, and cupboards are in the places they're not supposed to be.
So anyway. I and Bangun didn't have any plans until late in the afternoon, when his brother said the family was going to have a barbecue at home.
A few hours later, we were packed in the den, grilling ribs, lamb chops, prawns, sausages, while drinking white wine and eating mashed potatoes. Bangun's parents, Obeng and his fiancee, us, and Iluk.
It felt nice. Haha. Who could've thought.
At twelve, we went outside to light up the firecrackers with the neighbors' kids, and this is where my hand got burned and my brand-new satin top got accessorized by two small holes.
Not to forget the laughs from the crowd.
All in all, it was another great celebration, despite a little change from the previous years. For what it's worth, I wish everyone a jolly good 2009 with the best of times following 365-day-round.
As for me, I'm done with wishing.
