After a hell bunch of planning--and cancelations--finally I and Bangun went to Bali for holidays. You see, at first (I believe it was two years ago), it was me and the girls who planned to spoil ourselves in a luxurious holiday in Bali. We'd planned to save up some cash so we could stay at the Hard Rock Hotel and shop madly. But then, things started to fall into pieces (er...okay, I went a bit dramatic there). Another plan came up; this time, I and Runi were going to Bali with Ebonk and Bangun (who, by then, wasn't my boyfriend). That plan kinda stuck for a while, with me still hoping that Bune and Rozelle would tag along.
As time went on, however, this plan was also falling apart. Then up came a newer plan; this one included me, Bangun (already going out with me), Runi, Syarif, and a bunch of their campus friends. Then Runi and Syarif. Then Hilman (..okay, I'll stop before I say something about this one). Then back to Runi and Syarif.
In the end, I and Bangun had our fake honeymoon for a week, just the two of us.
Well, not really the two of us canoodling each other for a week; Mom and Dinda tagged along for the first four days. We stayed at Legian Paradiso, right on the busy Legian Street so it was easy to go shopping for anything. Fortunately, Bangun's the...shopping kinda guy. I don't mean this in a feminine way, it's just that he never minds going shopping anywhere with me. He even did all the bargains for us, and man, was he good at it! He knows I can get crazy when I want to buy something (yeah--I don't even care what I'm buying when I'm in the mood for shopping) and he never complains. He would just walk with me, checking out the guys section if there was any, or just picking out stuff for me (which I don't approve most of the time). So, either he's a shopping-kind-of-guy, or he just loves me that much xD Either way's fine with me.
Mom and Dinda went back to Jakarta on the fourth day. That left me and Bangun, just the two of us in Bali. We're both...Mommy's kids, so it was kinda confusing at first, at the same time exciting 'cos we got to see how it was to live together and take care of each other. We rented a car and drove around the town to see the beaches, we got high on mushroom and met the infamous Pak Wayan, we counted our expenses every night to see how much money we got left (well, actually Bangun did--I tried to help counting but his brain was even faster than my finger working on my calculator).
On the last two days, we rented a motorbike, and it was even more fun as it was easier to get to the narrow streets where there were loads of good, cheaper foods and more things to see and buy. We saw all the big hotels on the main streets of Kuta and Seminyak, daydreaming that someday we had to stay there.
It was super fun. Bali was still Bali with its beautiful beaches, that mix of hot, sunny air and the breezy ocean wind, Circle K's on every corner of every streets, amazingly friendly people, reggae music blazing from almost every stereo, and of course, people offering tattoos, nail arts, and massage everywhere. We had sunset everyday at Kuta, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Dreamland, Seminyak (in the oh-so-famous and oh-so-gaul Kudeta), and more Kuta. We visited Ubud, Pasar Sukowati (here, Bangun shopped like there was no tomorrow), Nusa Dua, and walked around Poppies Lanes. No parents, no curfews, no nagging friend-slash-business-partner, no schools, just the two of us. The hotel room was our little home for a week. It was bliss.
I still have to go there again with the girls. But right now, I'll settle for this. I'll settle with remembering that fun-in-the-sun week I had with my boyfriend whenever someone mentions the word "Bali".
